The DEFEND Cleveland Show

September 13th, 2013

On this week’s episode of Defend Cleveland Friday Mike and Joe discuss the poor Indians attendance, last week’s Browns season opener fail as well as this Sunday’s game against the Ravens, Floyd Mayweather Jr. being the most celebrated criminal alive, the possibility of reducing the length of NBA games to 40 minutes, and so much more. Enjoy~

WARNING: This show contains both strong language and strong opinions, and we’re not sure which is most offensive. Listener discretion is advised.

Two really good Grantland articles were cited and discussed on today’s show. The first was this work by Zach Lowe which discusses the idea of shortening NBA games from 48 minutes to 40. The second article was this work by Ben Lindbergh which compares Derek Jeter’s poor defense to Brendan Ryan’s superb glove play, which coincidentally(?), is a story that ran two weeks before the Yankees actually went out and signed Ryan to replace the injured Jeter. Who knew that Yankees GM Brian Cashman read Grantland? All we know is that for Cleveland fans, subtracting Jeter’s limited range and poor defensive set and adding in Asdrubal Cabrera’s name within this same comparison, is too easily done, i.e., this article should be mandatory reading for anyone who still has any shred of belief /hope that A-Cab’s has any business being an everyday shortstop in Major League Baseball.
