Week 12—Why So Far from Me Death?
I have been contemplating death a lot. So have you. I have noticed those who garner and conjure attention (popular culture populous that with all regard to arts or culture, a&e, such and such) are postured towards it, shoulders brass, feet asunder. In the post-world, the question of identity, which has not been lost, is seeking a gamut as it has had none to run for years. The sentiment is mutually agreeable. A world where nothing is, divination and inundated subdivision with highly individualized life plans and division of labor cum disintegration. made all the more accessible and promoted through technology: there is nothing to define. We’ve lost out to the Generations Game with their actual wars—but us sad and cause-less! and no economy nor education nor politic nor error for hanging our weepy hats! We can’t even be the lost generation—taken. Aside from hedonism, voyeurism, scrutinized individual perfection, sheer mindless entertainment, and pompous competition, what else is left but this beautiful careening towards the finite?
